Here at Southern
Springs, you will be provided the unique opportunity to improve your
riding skillls by working with multiple trainers from multiple riding
disciplines. Listed below are the trainers who are ready to go to work
for you and your horse or pony.
Instructors
Tracy Morton
Welcome to Morton Show Horses! Owned and operated by Tracy
Morton. Morton Show Horses specializes in the training of youth and amateur
riders looking to compete at any level in the individual and
All-Around performance events or simply to learn the basics of
horsemanship.
Tracy is an equestrian coach, horse trainer and equestrian judge
from Orange County, California who recently relocated to Auburn,
Alabama. She has been in the equestrian business and in the show
pen for more than 35 years, and has trained Quarter Horses and
Paints for the All-Around events such as Halter, Showmanship,
Western Pleasure, Western Equitation/Horsemanship, Trail,
Western Riding, Hunter Under Saddle and Hunt Seat Equitation.
Tracy has led her students and their horses to multiple World
Titles, Top Five and Top Ten honors in the AQHA, APHA, PtHA, and
PBHA World Shows.
Tracy, her husband and her family moved from
Southern California to Auburn, where she discovered Southern
Springs Equine Services, and made the decision to start training
and coaching here in the Southeast.
Tracy prides herself on having a small training program in order
to provide more personal instruction for both horse and rider.
She ONLY offers PRIVATE lessons on her show horses, with no more
than two students at a time. She accepts riders ages 6 to Adult. Tracy will never take more than
6 horses in training at one time. Safety and fun are top
priorities at Morton Show Horses. We keep all four legs on the
ground and DO NOT JUMP!

Claire Robinson
Claire Robinson offers training to both clients and their
horses. She offers beginner to intermediate riding lessons to
you and your horse, whether wanting to learn to ride or just
polishing your skills. Claire is willing to undertake your young
or green horse. She is willing to put the sweat and hours needed
while maintaining the patience and perseverance your project
deserves.
Claire Robinson has worked under several top trainers such
as Javier Mazzoni of Birmingham, Alabama. Claire has also
trained with Olympian Kyle Carter, 4**** rider Hilda
Donahue, Fran Summerlin Histed, and several others. She has
also spent time as a full-time working-student at Windwood
Equestrian, which she says, "Has gave me insight on managing
an upscale equestrian facility while also allowing her to
put in
countless hours riding a variety of horses, broadening my
ability to work with several disciplines." Claire has
competed in hunters, jumpers, and eventing all on the rated
circuit. She boasts 5th Area III Training Rider at the Area
III 2010 Championships as well as earning 5th Area III
Training Rider in year-end awards. Claire has numerous top-5
finishes, but credits her most valuable asset as experience
working with numerous horses, especially young-stock in a
variety of disciplines.
